hahahaahahhah

my daughter is a great fan of super hero movies. over the years i have been also been “educated”!

only very recently however, did she show me a very interesting personal gesture of the actor who played Captain America : he very often lol !

turned out this special “icon” is quite infectious. now it has become a great reminder and response for us esp. when we come across rather challenging people / unconscious behavior.

salute to you, Cap!

thanks a lot for helping us to lighten up, shake it off, and always maintain a sense of humor, which is absolutely essential for a joyful, healthy, balanced life.

The Ultimate Lesson

If Earth is a school, what are we here to learn?

skills, knowledge? how to get rich, famous, be liked by many?

If there is purpose of life, what is it?

To me, life seems to be a journey of self discovery. through various challenges / sufferings we discover aspects of ourselves which otherwise will be overlooked / dormant : inner strength, perseverance, faith, hope, compassion, …

Realizing who we are at the core enables us to function with much greater ease despite external challenges / circumstances. We also naturally become the vibration to balance / uplift the world knowingly / unknowingly.

May more of us turn our attention / awareness inward and be more often connected with the Source / the One / All-that-is / the unmanifested / timeless, spaceless formless pure consciousness. …

then this world will certainly become a much joyful and peaceful place

Love never dies

it’s sometimes hard to believe how things that happened so long ago can be so clearly remembered. like being recorded by a video camera, the images very deeply imprinted into the memory.

my grandma (dad’s mom) lived together with my parents, sister and me until she passed away when i was 4/5 . i can still clearly “see” the flat, my cot, her bed… even how i saw her lying in the funeral parlour. no fear. just very peaceful like sleeping. she was the one who spend most of the time with me when i was small. watching me coming back from kindergarten from a window, accompanied by another lady. …

i never felt she left me even after she was not in the physical body 40+ years ago. quite the contrary, i sense her presence all the time. a very loving, embracing, unconditional type.

my other grandparents lived close to our home then. we visited them often and share a big meal every week. the scenes, even the smell and look of the foods still very vivid.

my uncle and aunt, finally much better off than my parents, invited us often to their home, took us to swim in luxurious clubs, boat trips, resorts..

Heartfelt thanks to you all those for all your love, generosity and kindness. no kind thought /word / deed will be forgotten no matter how small.

Love never dies. Only love is real.

the Holy Encounter

i have the privilege to have met a few people in my life who instantly connect. there appear to be sense of deep trust and familiarity even at the very first encounter.

we normally share a period where we attend some lessons /events regularly, then sooner or later , we part.

often we don’t connect even online for a long time, yet whenever there is a chance to meet up, the wonderful feeling is still the same.

yes, to lay down our mask and open up is sometimes risky and make us vulnerable, but that should not prevent us from reaching out.

i agree with the saying that ultimately it is how many hearts that we have touched that matters most instead of money, fame, …

May we all have stronger, bigger, more resilient hearts so that we can fear less and love more.

Laugh out Loud

My daughter has great sense of humor. we often LOL on the street esp. after seeing some very unconscious behavior.

it is very interesting to see how the others respond. some showed a smile, kind of like infected, while others look at us like aliens! haahahah

isn’t life already challenging enough to be taken so seriously?

laughter might not only the best medicine but a very powerful tool to dissolve / transform hostility / anxiety / suspicion …

laugh at the absurdity, seriousness, madness of ourselves and others…

help lighten up the world to make it a more sane place.

Social Conditioning

Since very small, we all have been conditioned to think / act in certain way according to our gender, culture, social norm, social class, family background…

As a Chinese i was born to parents with the very common traditional belief that children are treated almost like life-long private properties that are supposed to generate income and service as long as they survive.

the thinking probably originated during the times when agriculture is common and more children means greater work force thus higher productivity.

the concept of “养儿防老” is still common nowadays where children are seen as a kind of insurance policy for old age.

for half a century, i tried my utmost to fulfill my role as a “good daughter” despite how much i disagree with this idea.

i am not saying we should not be good to our parents, yet it should come only from our hearts instead of a duty. All children can tell whether someone is really good to them or only treat them a mean to an end.

i was brought up with the motto “should”. that i should do what i am supposed to do, never what i like.

the positive side of this is : my painful experience serve as a perfect example of what not to do for my parenting, so that i am able to nourish my daughter into a happy jolly with much wisdom, consciousness and big heart.

today, she is the one who encourages me to be more of myself, to say no / stand firm against demands, even though that means disapproval / mis-understanding from others.

my suggestion to all parents is that we act as facilitators / coaches / guides to our children to help them blossom into the flower they are supposed to be, instead of moulding them into someone we’d like them to be.

then they shall remain genuinely grateful and become a positive force / power / energy to enhance the world throughout their lives.

The Journey

Life seems to be a series of acquisition and letting go.

We were born with very little apart from our physical bodies. Over the years, we accumulate foods, knowledge, skills, belief systems, people, materials…

somehow, at a certain time, either these people / places / things leave us, or we choose to leave them.

It seems that it is not how much we have acquired that promote inner joy / peace / health, but rather how much we are able to let go :

the need to be right / understood / agreed to / approved / conform / liked / treated well / special / superior / change others…and ultimately, our physical bodies.

only then can we stay joyful / peaceful / healthy… regardless of external circumstances while we still have a physical form, and a smooth transition back to the Source is possible.

Beyond Form Identity

i wonder, what kind of world this will become if everyone enjoys equal pay, social status, respect… regardless of what u do. that a janitor will be seen as equally important as a lawyer, doctor, accountant….

sometimes it is heart breaking to see that the majority of human is still so totally identify with everything on the surface : our family / education background, possessions, occupations, abilities, social connections, physical appearance, countries, gender… We forgot we share the same true essence, thus try our very best to be “superior”, resulting in all kinds of unnecessary competitions, comparison, jealousy, imbalances, insanity …

is a bird in anyway better / superior than a fish just because it can fly /sing ? or more colorful or have a nest?

when will we ever learn that we all are incomparably unique, various manifestations of the same One Consciousness?

only when one becomes aware of one’s essence identity will one truly respect each form, be it a human, an animal, a flower, a cup… that all our actions will become more sane and loving, that the highest good of all will be served instead of personal interests….and there will be less boundaries but greater oneness.

may we all be showered with greater universal consciousness esp. for the younger generations, so that we all realised each of us is only a small particle in the universe. there is no need for a big ego .

only then will harmonious co-existence of all life forms be possible without a big shakeup.

The Invaluable Ordinary Life

when my daughter was about 7 / 8 years old, i lived a very ordinary and routine life. like many other full-time moms, the whole focus was on the kids. everyday is tuned to school / activity schedules.

we lived near a riverside then. very often i would have some free time strolling along the promenade when i was alone, watching a boat collecting rubbish along the river leisurely, sometimes with a big egret as a company standing on its top!

a common thought i had then was : is that all to life? do i spend my time like this for the rest of my life?

the universe showed me how “exciting” life can be, when about 6/ 7 years ago, i was forced into a deep, fast and intense detox, triggered by simply attending a 2-day course on akashic record.

what followed was truly beyond imagination. for years, rash will appear any where in the body any time, making me unable to simply function as a human being . could not eat nor sleep…

all sorts of healing modalities were tried. simple, high tech…

heart-felt appreciation to my husband who has stood by my side all along with all kinds technical, financial, emotional support…

it took me a few years to get back to a more sane life, before another challenging period, during which, in just 3 -4 years, we experienced 2 home moves, sale of the flat we spent so much time to create and lived in for 9 years, said goodbye to our 14-year-old car that grew together with my daughter, saw my daughter becoming full-fledged daring young adult, went abroad to further university study in 2 countries, a surprising out of hometown post for my husband, which leave me all alone in my birth place most of the time and frequent travelling between the 2 cities. ., the ascension of my dad….

now with a much earlier than expected graduation of my daughter, she is now ready to move on to another new chapter in life.

it is such a rewarding experience to see her grow so much in more than 2 decades into a kind, loving, daring, wise, conscious young adult.

the physical challenge does re appear from time to time, yet with the help of all spiritual teachers, new healing tools developed by my husband, and all that i have learnt and applied on the way, i am now able to face it with greater ease.

it’s almost like looking back into a previous life when i re-visit the same place where i used to watch the boat peacefully sailing along the river.

appreciate the ordinary. don’t take it for granted. for it is very often that only when something is taken away from us that we realised how much we are enjoying.

a cup of tea, a breath of fresh air, wonderful sunlight, flowers, birds, other wonderful beings around us…

there is phrase in the movie ” shine” that strike me rather deeply : money can’t buy u everything.

how much will you accept to give up a leg, an arm… be paralyzed?

that is how much most of us are enjoying everyday.

start living now!
