sun and moon by the sea

1st weekend after restriction of wearing masks outdoor and no dine in after 6 p.m. relaxed a bit, i was at beach at evening both sat and sun, unexpectedly, unplanned, very last minute decision, yet turned out to be absolutely wonderful 40 – 45 mins.

both days arriving almost same time 620 p.m., when sadhguru daily chant starts.

sat. we went a beach which we have not been long time. still packed with people. sun setting when we parked nearby. still quite many people when we arrived the beach. we got mats. great to lie down / yoga/ chanting…

families with kids, swimmers, … the restaurant overlooking the beach was full!

we watch night falls as the moon becomes brighter, right in front of us , high up, already quite round a few days before full moon.

sunday : a last minute decision to walk to a nearby beach. again, still packed with people : photographers, swimmers, those simply have a walk, those finished kayaking, bikers taking a break…

this time reverse : the sun setting right in front, with the moon at the back, high up. the whole sky turned pink and stayed that for quite a long time after sun set.

while some r very prepared with rolling suitcase / mats / tents / foldable chairs / professional cameras…… others simply stop by to watch the wonderful scene.

it’s quite interesting to see how every one is looking at the same direction, appreciating the beauty / taking photo / simply sit and rest .. hopefully with an empty mind….

with running outdoor being exempted from wearing masks, one can almost see joggers smiling / laughing! kind of enjoying a very basic freedom of taking a breath of fresh air after being restricted for a month.

no. of cases continued to drop . quite a miracle to reach single digit today esp. after a period of 100+ daily not long ago.

may this continue to ease

so all tests / codes / delayed election / requirements about wearing masks / restriction on business… be all null and void, unnecessary, lifted, cancelled…

we create and patiently await manifestation of miracles

so be it , so be it, so it is

sunday morning

it was a hot sunny day and a wonderful 2 hour period to remember

rarely do i have breakfast at the normally jammed cafe. this morning, only a few quiet people so i can enjoy a veggie bento with sunlight shining through big glass panels

then trying my luck, went to a nearby beach which i can see earlier from far above that it was high tide, so leaving not much sandy area for the many beach goers on a normal sunday.

to my surprise, not many people around. i managed to “air surf” for about 20 mins, then sit on a nearby small rock, which turned out to be an excellent natural seat for me so i can quiet down to observe what was going on around me.

how interesting that so many different activities were ongoing at such a small beach :

kid playing water / sand with dad; single female swimmer who change to swimming costume upon arrival and swim away with all clothing in water proof bag; youngsters kayaking, swimming; foreigner sunbathing; photographer taking photos with big lens; others simply having a walk….

far away, the big Buddha Kwun Yin statue standing at the foot of a mountain…science park on the right…

waves coming in ….

everyone having fun despite the heat and the need to wear mask… such a beautiful, vibrant, peaceful, joyful picture where all is in harmony.

thank you for the abundance in every aspect

let’s keep co-creating paradise 🙂

T9

what a difference a day makes

a relatively peaceful p.m. when T3 (typhoon signal no. 3) was just hoisted, i decided to drive to a nearby beach hoping for some no rain period to move / exercise.

it was just a 5 min. drive yet rain and wind suddenly became so heavy and strong that i decided not to get out of the car after stopped at the nearby outdoor car park. it would be an instant shower even with umbrella . instead, turned back home.

how unbelievable that the typhoon grew into a T8 at night, even T9 early next morning. then dramatically leaving swiftly so that by around 11 a.m., all signals were lowered!

i seldom remember such intense typhoon come and go so fast, in just 24 hours!

after all signals were lowered, about same time as the day before, i decided to go to the same beach again, this time on foot.

it was a very peaceful scene with few people and activities. leaves / twigs everywhere on the ground, even a big tree trunk at the place i normally go was washed away.

yet the space feel very clean. birdies are out, so r some determined joggers…

i can’t help saying a BIG THANK YOU to the universe for all the blessings, esp. when half of china is already under water and rain continued for more than a month in Korea, earthquake in phillipines….

i trust that every kind thought, word and deed help. no matter how little / small we think it is.

mooncake already on sale. mid autumn festival only about 5 weeks away.

may we use this great opportunity to show our love and concerns for those in need. e.g. elderly living alone.

it is our kind hearts and acts that attract all blessings.

keep shining 🙂

mask : east vs. west

3rd week into the mandatory requirement of wearing masks outdoor here in hk. most people comply despite very very hot.

even when we take down mask for eating (which is legally allowed), others often stared with dis agreement, even anger / hatred.

when a rare sensible and brave alien who takes down mask while running comes across another, there is usually an exchange of a smile from the heart 🙂

after all the culture of the East is one of collective override individual. most people r deeply conditioned to be obedient. “good” children / students “respect” and never challenge parents/ teachers to earn love / rewards in all forms.

people so accustomed to conforming to rules that they seldom understand the logic behind nor exercise common sense.

e.g. even when a great social distance can be maintained / when there is no one at all within a long distance outdoor, people still put on mask, and expect others to do the same or else will give the “criminal stare”!

interestingly the reverse is true in US.

no one is required to wear mask and those who do will be seen as alien!

how amazing such a small item revealed such great fundamental difference across cultures.

the West certainly have greater respect for individual choice / freedom in general and probably has an underlying assumption that all is well / people in general not sick / it is up to each individual to strengthen their own immune system as the virus is everywhere like many others types…thus someone who is not sick and wear a mask might actually be seen as dis respectful as he/ she is assuming others carry germs / show that he / she very fearful..

while in the East, majority very controlling and fear based and assume that everyone might carry virus . therefore test carry out massive scale to find out carrier with no symptom and those who do not wear mask considered very impolite / inconsiderate / even criminal…everything need to be under surveillance and full control….despite great costs / efforts / sacrificing quality of life, physical/ emotional well being, privacy, personal freedom…

it’s yet to see how the big difference can be reconciled globally / maybe there will be some new policies/ tool / methods that can curb spreading of virus while maintaining personal freedom / privacy / well being…

humans have forced requirements on others for a long time. we just so accustomed to them that we take them for granted :

schooling, vaccination, dress code, gender roles, laws (which now become very obvious that it can be used as a tool to punish dissidents and control the mass by those in power)…

i believe a time will come when our wisdom , love and power so developed that each individual is sensible, disciplined, loving, caring, …so that despite different cultures/ background / personal choice all can live in harmony without much rules.

as i change my beliefs, so will the reflections.

so is it . so is it. so it is.

rain and sun

this is a blessed place. rain seldom lasts long. yet when heavy rain and hot sun oscillate in a day, it takes some courage / faith to go outdoor even with an umbrella.

it’s also a great opportunity to practise allowing our high mind (humpty dumpty 🙂 ) to guide us when situation can change so rapidly and drastically

yesterday, it was noon. i planned to go out for a walk when rain eased a bit before a meal as usual. suddenly i decided to go into a cafe nearby first which i have not visited for months. it was normally jam packed during lunch but unexpectedly quiet that day.

shortly after i seated, i noticed via the big glass walls how rain poured down suddenly and trees started swinging in strong winds. people got wet even walking through a very short covered footbridge. umbrella not very helpful.

in only about 30 mins, however, rain stopped and out came the hot sun.

i was again guided to a nearby small beach which i seldom visit, found some new paths, and amazingly managed to moved / exercised a while before many more people arrived. sun shining strong above, until i safely home when rain started again…

nothing but gratitude and amusement….

synchronicity played out again today, when rainbow appeared twice early morning within 1 hour in between heavy rains

sun was shining in the east while rain falling in the west, creating quite a long lasting rainbow that hovered above mountains all the way down to the sea. spectacular!

the most special about the experience being the 2nd one almost appeared right in front of my eyes during my “no thought” period while starring into space….

other blessed short window period of about 20 – 30 mins. with no rain so i can exercise outdoor at an open air deck…

the “reflection” seem to play out well as my beliefs change + a greater willingness to allow higher mind to guide.

what an important concept / interesting experiment . thanks to Bashar

we don’t change others / the world, same as we don’t change the reflection in a mirror.

but ourselves

our deep, sometimes unconscious beliefs.

follow our excitement…accepting whatever comes…and make the most out of it…

refused to be negatively influenced …

looking forward to seeing more buddies in paradise!

roadside cafe

it is a roadside cafe with open seating close to a small beach.

for almost 20 yrs we have been visiting. so long ago even forgot how we connected in first place.

at that time the vicinity was quite empty, so can only be conveniently accessed by car. these few yrs, a lot more residential complex were built nearby, make it more accessible on foot.

we had the luxury to live quite close so can always go for a walk / exercise sunny / rainy days then go that cafe for some foods / rest.

today, an ordinary tue lunch hour, it was surprisingly packed with all sorts of people. so amazing that it was like a miniature of hk : from construction workers, to local citizens, young and old, kids with family arriving in luxurious sedan, jockey club member yet dressed very ordinarily (quite rare to see)… smokers, vegetarians, bikers, dine in, take away…people in slippers, work boots….

i watched with awe how quite an empty place when i arrived was slowly filled up with various types of “characters”, much like a movie.

everyone calm, slit in 2 per table even if arriving in big groups (3rd week as required by govt no more than 2 people gathering), wearing masks until eating…

car park also a great view : working trucks to luxurious sedans , lining up one next to another very orderly.

i wonder what’s so special about that cafe that can stand for decades yet attract people of sorts.

with major construction / development work now ongoing nearby, it’s unsure how long this “small business” will last. in fact the owner has expressed long time ago about the intention to closing it down.

by the way, foods not clean again today… but the place is still quite attractive (with flowers, fishes, tortoises…) and sure will remain an icon in our memories.

2nd day after owner of apple daily arrested, its stock sky rocketed. the newspaper also so popular that it has to be reprinted after 1st batch sold out.

in central, the cha chan ting that the owner’s son operates, office workers, retirees… lined up under hot sun to show support. dine in /take away. no words. all calm, orderly ..

hkers again voted by their feet and exercised creativity of all sorts to defend / show support to the freedom they all once enjoyed.

meanwhile, in US, shooting near white house while trump was just beginning the press conference….

the game is on. ..

it is this attitude of accepting differences, be considerate, disciplined, while being ourselves that we can all survived in harmony and thrive in such a small place for over a century.

this is a time to demonstrate to the world and allow us all to realise that hkers r not just materialistic. something in our blood that we take for granted, without even realising that it exist until it was jeapordised. this might be the divine purpose of all these challenges! 🙂

may we all be awakened to this universal value. knowing that violence / suppression / control …is never the solution, so that we can all transit rapidly and properly into a new world

when it gets so dramatic…

first it was a big real step by US to sanction 11 hk officials including the ce

then, at lightning speed and totally out of expectation, apple daily mgt. and founder / owner arrested under high profile. home and office search…

more key members of other organisations at night…

seemingly to demonstrate how that newly passed national security law is so powerful…

in retaliation, 11 US senators and other human rights organisation staff also sanctioned.

meanwhile, virus keep spreading locally though daily no. a bit down to less than 100.

with things escalating so fast and intense, everything seems possible, no matter how unbelievable.

it is vital, as Bashar pointed out, to stay at the eye of the storm, so that we can transit easier through the eye of the needle.

2 weeks after mandatory requirement to wear masks outdoor despite very high temp., determined and obedient joggers, bikers… exercise under hot sun with masks on. few more sensible / rebellious one take / pull it down.

it now becomes a luxury even to take some sunshine and fresh air / simply be under open sky without a mask, something in fact will greatly enhance our physical and psychological well being thus boost our immune system.

the requirement has just be extended by 1 more week. just hope no serious injury will happen when most people follow

i was blessed with lunch at an outdoor amphitheatre twice lately after exercise. there were other people around, all calm, disciplined, yet still displaying vitality.

families with kids biking, taking a rest / mini picnic, worker lying down for a rest after lunch, couples massaging each other, kids running around with parents, or playing scooter, skipping rope, electronic gadgets, stretching…

sunshine on my back, sea in front, there were even people water skiing on a blue sky sunny day…

may we all reap most benefit from every situation, regardless of how challenging, knowing that everything happened for a reason and a high purpose.

it’s such an irony that the govt shifted from banning wearing of masks by the public to mandatory wearing in just 10 months!

hkers have learnt to become very flexible, adaptable, creative, …while remaining strong, faithful, hopeful, at ease, at peace, …

it is exactly this type of quality that will allow us to sail through the storm with flying colors

those who believe in “miracles” will shift to that parallel universe at a speed determined by each individual.

keep believing while “enjoying” all dramas

Blessings be to all

T3 at seaside

it was a great experience to remember

a small pier at a small beach, normally occupied by kite flyers / busily visited by many, on a windy rainy sunday p.m, empty. though many cars parked close waiting for the perfect moment

with an excellent water proof jacket, i was able to stay at the pier for about 20 mins. , moving freely, kind of like “air surfing”! ahhaahahah, while watching big waves coming in, with rain, strong wind, and occasional peeping by the sun.

wind so strong that one can almost “lie on air”. certainly powerful demonstration of nature even though only a receding typhoon 3.

great feeling of freedom, surrender, allowing, fun, + a little risk of getting all wet ! hahahaah

amazingly there were quite many surfers getting into the sea as we left when weather became milder. also kite flyers taking out their chairs, tools…

i guess we all need similar kind of “stimuli” from time to time. to remind us we r part of all-that-is, very small compared with mother nature. yet still can have fun / take part esp. if we choose to believe that we r always protected / guided by higher sources.

may we all be able to handle all challenges with ease, humor, faith, … knowing that all happen for a reason and we that we can get the most out of every situation even if it is not what we prefer, by totally accepting, allowing, following our excitement any given moment…

as we change ourselves, we shall witness “a change in the world”.

blessings be to all

when our freedom to breathe is jeapordised

a few days into the new mandatory requirement of wearing masks outdoor, it’s interesting to see not many chose to obey the rule despite very hot and uncomfortable.

at places where usually packed with joggers/ bikers.. most people r putting on masks despite real feel as high as 38 degrees or even higher. there r families still taking kids outdoor for a ride / play with masks as if already part of the body.

sure there r others who pull down the mask / put on sunhat to cover up the face/ using other means to get around, but those openly defy is rarely seen.

it is interesting to see how a simple mask can lead to all sorts of disagreement / even violence esp. in US. some even passed away. it seems this seemingly little item uncovered / allow some very deep phenomenon / conditioning to surface.

that a few / a small group of people have, for eons, impose rules / restrictions for others / the mass to follow.

some sure with good intention e.g. to maintain order, justice.. yet it has become very clear lately that those in power can have a very different agenda.

for generations, in order to live in harmony, we all taught to be obedient. esp not to violate law, not to mention other social norms / culture / conditioning which in fact deeply shape / restrict expectations / standards / behaviour on everyone, esp. female / kids

less subtle ones include vaccination, schooling, dress code, “success” definition…

by unconsciously observing all rules imposed on us, we give up our freedom / discernment / individuality / courage …. willingly enslaved bit by bit.

a mask exposed a fundamental “conflict ” : decision of a few over the mass, vs. right of choice by the individual.

it is time for allowing and respecting diversity and personal choice, while trusting that everyone will be disciplined enough to act sensibly for the greater good . (e.g. those who feel sick will wear mask even without being asked).

law is never the answer. in fact can be the very source of problem!!

again, we stay calm, centred, grounded, in peace to see unfolding of the divine plan.

when it seems more and more in the reverse direction happened (e.g. disqualifying legco candidates, postponing legco election, sending “experts” from prc to hk to fight plague with lots unanswered details, setting up temp. hospital at expo centre…) it is also an indicator that we r closer to the end of the tunnel.

“be still, and know that i am god”
