it was the 1st working day after a long weekend and chung yeung festival
another sunny cool day.
i brought mat to the bigger beach again so as to leave more time for daughter to pack the wardrobe before cleaning.
another blessed window period of 1.5 hours low tide time, leaving large pc of land, moist when i arrived shortly after noon. in 2- 3 hours, all gone. and water level remained high whole day.
it was quiet most of the time. a few people came during lunch hour for a walk / take photos.
egrets here again walking in water, sometimes chicken run! hahahaha
i roll / stretch / dance / yoga / tai chi / rest / took photos / mediate … for more than 1 hour, so comfortable and quiet don’t want to leave, appreciating god sent present / blessing to have the whole big beach almost private for so long, sending out good vibes…
when i finally decided to leave, someone came afar to say hello.
a young, tall american, Nick, lived here in hk for 6 yrs, teaches english at a “nearby school” , came to this beach to meditate during lunch hour!
what a surprise!
he needs to take train for 1 stop here then walk all the way from station. though not far. very rush indeed given the short break
we chatted very briefly, knowing he’s hurrying back. turned out he speaks great cantonese and familiar with tao / fasting / tai chi ….
during this period when most people r rushing / not very conscious / filled with fear / anger…, to meet someone of more similar vibrations is such a sweet surprise.
turned out he has been around for quite some time only did not want to disturb me. much appreciated. rare considerate human who respect privacy.
i wish more can “be” with nature. instead of yelling / taking photos / making phone calls …
formal meditation might not be needed. the ritual can be let go of if we simply quiet down and pay attention to all our senses / inner body.
camera, like any other technology, have cons besides pro..
it takes away our ability to connect, be it with a plant, animal, object, nature…. human… the very 1st thing we do now whenever we see something stunning / special / of great beauty is to take photo, instead of paying close attention to observe, appreciate, connect…
sadly most people missed a lot by simply taking a few photo and leave. sure most of them not conscious about this habit and probably egoic behaviour of showing off / “sharing” of photos about places they have visited.
some “down time” without phone might be very beneficial to the mass, esp. if they can spend some quiet, alone, sunny periods with nature. how healing simply looking up the blue sky with white clouds forming all sorts of wonderful patterns, or to watch egret walking / running in water / crabs going out from / into the sand, listening to the waves, feeling the warm sun, lying on the sand, caressed by the breeze, relaxing and stretching the body, dancing freely as a spirit….
priceless
may all be blessed with such abundance, and the conscious to receive , appreciate, and give back
blessings be to all
