it was the 1st working day after a long weekend and chung yeung festival

another sunny cool day.

i brought mat to the bigger beach again so as to leave more time for daughter to pack the wardrobe before cleaning.

another blessed window period of 1.5 hours low tide time, leaving large pc of land, moist when i arrived shortly after noon. in 2- 3 hours, all gone. and water level remained high whole day.

it was quiet most of the time. a few people came during lunch hour for a walk / take photos.

egrets here again walking in water, sometimes chicken run! hahahaha

i roll / stretch / dance / yoga / tai chi / rest / took photos / mediate … for more than 1 hour, so comfortable and quiet don’t want to leave, appreciating god sent present / blessing to have the whole big beach almost private for so long, sending out good vibes…

when i finally decided to leave, someone came afar to say hello.

a young, tall american, Nick, lived here in hk for 6 yrs, teaches english at a “nearby school” , came to this beach to meditate during lunch hour!

what a surprise!

he needs to take train for 1 stop here then walk all the way from station. though not far. very rush indeed given the short break

we chatted very briefly, knowing he’s hurrying back. turned out he speaks great cantonese and familiar with tao / fasting / tai chi ….

during this period when most people r rushing / not very conscious / filled with fear / anger…, to meet someone of more similar vibrations is such a sweet surprise.

turned out he has been around for quite some time only did not want to disturb me. much appreciated. rare considerate human who respect privacy.

i wish more can “be” with nature. instead of yelling / taking photos / making phone calls …

formal meditation might not be needed. the ritual can be let go of if we simply quiet down and pay attention to all our senses / inner body.

camera, like any other technology, have cons besides pro..

it takes away our ability to connect, be it with a plant, animal, object, nature…. human… the very 1st thing we do now whenever we see something stunning / special / of great beauty is to take photo, instead of paying close attention to observe, appreciate, connect…

sadly most people missed a lot by simply taking a few photo and leave. sure most of them not conscious about this habit and probably egoic behaviour of showing off / “sharing” of photos about places they have visited.

some “down time” without phone might be very beneficial to the mass, esp. if they can spend some quiet, alone, sunny periods with nature. how healing simply looking up the blue sky with white clouds forming all sorts of wonderful patterns, or to watch egret walking / running in water / crabs going out from / into the sand, listening to the waves, feeling the warm sun, lying on the sand, caressed by the breeze, relaxing and stretching the body, dancing freely as a spirit….

priceless

may all be blessed with such abundance, and the conscious to receive , appreciate, and give back

blessings be to all

plants

certainly very strong beings full of vatality

it hurts me always when i see grass outgrowing bricks / trees outgrowing cement

yet it is also under such unbearable pressure that plants demonstrate their super power, will and strength

we human cut / shape them as we like. when we need them to grow, we plant them. .. how rude.

at least we better do it with more respect

the small pc of lawn near where i often exercise was full of pretty tall wild flowers. next time, all removed. only the soil..

today, i noticed 1st time, on the path where i pass daily, remains of tree trunk embedded in the metal wire fencing along pedestrian walkway. both above and below cut. the trees have thrived so much that branches become too long, obstructing people, thus “killed”

those trees were originally on the other side of the path, yet over time they expanded in all directions including to “cross the fence” and get to the other side.

the tree has merged with the metal! embraced it as part of itself.

it’s striking to look closely at how it might have happened. only very loving and powerful creatures could have done that.

and it’s certainly much more challenging to be as still as a tree when we human cannot even stay quiet a while to mediate or simply sit

may we all have greater appreciation and respect for all life forms. note the lessons they teach us. be humble and learn from them. then this world will certainly be a much better place.

yoga by the sea

it was 2 consecutive windy but sunny days. much cooler than before but sun still hot around noon.

yesterday i decided to take a mat so i can sit / do some stretching after the normal “air surf”

already a few single male / female sunbathing by the time i arrived 130 p.m.

it was a small beach. lucky everyone is quiet.

enjoyed a wonderful 1 hour window period before more people arrived for various activities : wind surf, canoe, set up tent…

today, for the 1st time, i bring a mat to the other bigger beach earlier to do the normal warm up / stretching / rolling exercises that i normally do on bed daily before going out .

soooo blessed with short low tide period, big pcs of land with very few people. a big egret far away, walking in water . ..

long tailed big birds , rarely seen here in a group of 4 – 5, singing and flying around the trees behind.

another amazing 1 hr in communion with nature, 5 elements, animals and plants, ..

may more of us learn to be quiet. speak less. listen to the sound of nature and our inner voice. we sure can feel a much greater connection with all, and joy beyond words

this is the way to peace, harmony… to find the true essence in ourselves, and all.

blessings be to all

lovely moments at the peak

it was a very last minute and brave decision to go peak sunday p.m.

surprisingly traffic very smooth. only a few people waiting for peak tram. by 6 p.m. we arrived.

many lined up to get down. the observation deck still crowded around 630, and restaurants very full.

yet interestingly all disappeared by the time our snack is ready.

quiet eating time at dusk, just after sunset. temp. just right. no rain. nor strong wind.

we visited another cafe before it closes for some hot tea. again, occupy the whole place with excellent night view enjoying some quiet time and good foods.

then, walking time. much less people on the path. by 8, we arrived the best viewing point to see the iconic victoria harbour view, right at the time when “light show” is on. only a couple nearby

took some lovely pictures before headed back. on the way started to rain.

before we leave we decided to try out the restaurant with not very friendly staff last time. still quite full at 9 .

this time, lucky enough to have a very nice lady who tailored most foods to vegetarian dishes for us.

music that daughter loves a lot.

turned out great pizza, pasta, salad. certainly exceed expectation.

its’ great to reconcile some not so good memories and replace with wonderful ones.

we never expect to take the last peak tram back. but did! 1st time.

it was more rainy and cooler when we left.

such a surprising and lovely 4 hours to remember.

looking forward to next time when we can enjoy more “dancing outdoor” and sunlight.

the gentle “typhoon”

probably the most special T8 i remembered

we were told last evening that T8 will be hoisted today before sunrise.

i woke up at 3 a.m. , very quiet. at 6 a.m., still no trace of wind though a little rain.

throughout the day it was very quiet, certainly a big contrast to all T8 we had before. not even as strong as a T3 / T1.

later in p.m, it was announced that T8 will be lowered in a few hours. i decided to go out for a walk.

to my very surprise, the street/ mall were very busy! most shops and catering outlets open and very full. unusual

i went to the beach, blessed with period of light rain.

on the way, everything feel like a normal day : people walking dogs, jogged in the rain, strolling the beach, taking kids for grocery shopping / exercise…

how strange it is for both people and business decided to operate “as normal”

i guess 2 major reasons :

  1. businesses have been so hard hit earlier due to all kinds of restrictions under covid, so many decided to make up the lost as much as possible despite weather
  2. people r getting more conscious, relying more on their own judgement instead of following programmed/ conditioned actions.

after exercise, i had a meal listening Eckhart’s latest recording. being reminded again that suffering is often necessary for human awakening.

something quite obvious for hkers.

interestingly, rain / wind started to strengthen later this evening when T8 was about to be lowered!

and the signal coincided with a few special events also happened today / tomorrow :

the 1st ever delay in announcement of policy address, as the ce and other top gov’t officials need to visit sz to meet with party leader

meanwhile, “experts” keep threatening the public that something very serious might happen if we do not take extra precautions / have more people tested as we enter winter, even though only single digit cases were confirmed lately for many days.

with much presence and patience, we meet all challenges with much greater vigilance, calm, ease…knowing all is well despite how bad it looks on the surface.

a new world incubating.

autumn

finally a taste of the harvest season

for almost 9 months since feb. skin conditions very bad. rash keep coming everyday, sometimes very seriously, while skin of heel peeled big area, deep,…

it was particularly serious last night, in fact lately, that i have to lie on the marble of the window bay to “cool down” / “quench the itch” after shower.

1st time i feel cold when wake up after 2 hours middle of the night.

it does feel like the wheel has suddenly turned after much chaos.

just 2 days ago, i drove to a nearby mall late evening to get something. something i rarely do. just when i prepared to leave for petrol station, found the car not working well. no technical help after office hour, sought help from towing company, just to find height of car park not enough… somehow the car seemed “back to normal” after a last conscious attempt to restart / some rest time… yet on the way home noise and heat…

truly blessed to have arrived home safely. next day, advised to be towed back to car maintenance centre. 1st time in 20 yrs that towing is needed. and certainly a surprise for a 3+ yr old ” luxury brand” only about 2 weeks after the last free “spa service”

it turned out to be a blessing in disguise again. in only 2 hours, and during the very non peak time of the day, friendly and professional staff arrived and towed the car away very smoothly. with the help of a few security staff here.

interestingly i did not feel sad when i watched it being towed away. rather feel like it is going for a picnic / adventure! a very brilliant looking suv blinking after the trailer, slowly out of carpark! hahaahah

i went back club house to finish breakfast with daughter, before another fruitful grocery shopping trip. a very busy, exciting day but truly blessed

today, all seemed slow down. very rarely little / no rash throughout the day.

late p.m., i went beach to move again. very cool. cloudy. windy, but mostly quiet and comfortable.

again, there was a blue opening in the sky surrounded by white and grey clouds, something i termed” gateway to heaven”, and i always feel someone is ascending/ has ascended.

while waiting for news from car centre, i revised Conscious Manifestation course by Eckhart. great to revisit / be reminded of some important principles.

before close of business, i was told car will not be ready today. battery might be the problem. need to be replaced and further tested.

thank god warranty has not expired. our “smart car” might have chosen to break down somehow to get a new battery! haahahah

may the fiery summer be finally past, and in comes the cool, calm, more cosy autumn

how interesting to feel that something very heavy has been lifted suddenly.

may the challenging months / yr have finally past. that we have all transformed and learnt invaluable lessons.

may this be a time to rebuild after much destruction.

to pave our way to a possibly very different, yet equally wonderful christmas

full moon Oct. 2020

after the super rainy / stormy lunar 8/14 night (“welcome the moon day”), came unbelievable sunny days. on both 8/15 (“appreciate the moon day”) and 8/16 (“chase the moon day”), i was blessed with very sunny mornings to exercise by the sea

a few very interesting moments to recap at night :

we went for a walk at the nearby foot bridge. daughter brought along her super creative “lantern” : a blinking halo made of a bunch of christmas lights! hahahaha … she became the centre of attention wherever she goes. kids were particularly amazed. adults also smiled . it’s good to have uplifted everyone a little. so much happened in a yr, and this mid autumn festival so much different from last yr.

we visited the nearby macdonald very late. glad to know macaroni was offered 24 hours! had a big meal before walking home close to mid night under the bright shining moon

the next night, i went out early evening, just to see people gathered on foot bridge all looking at same direction taking photo . it was moon rise around 640 pm., with bright Venus nearby. big round moon just above a nearby newly built residential property. feeling very blessed, hopeful, joyful, abundant..

we enjoyed great discounted items at a nearby cafe. surprised by the very yummy apple croissant and mango yoghurt cake 🙂

today, the 1st sat. of the new school yr after a very turbulent 2019/ 20, i visited the campus i used to study and live 30 yrs ago. still very quiet though many students have returned.

had a chance to move quietly on a deck for a while, then a good walk uphill.

big trees were filled with small orange berries. butterflies around. i walked past the dorm i used to live for 3 yrs. . for the 1st time realised that the 10+ trees right in front were all precious Buddhist Pine! they must have been standing there patiently for decades waiting for my recognition.

not far away, a fig tree full of figs. , cherry blossoms not yet flowered. ..

no wonder all those who have spent a few yrs here so connected. nature / all these life forms : trees, birds, butterflies, moon, sun, rain… have become so integrated into our system that we all share some qualities that only the heart can resonate.

since last yr, a few people popped up in news/ media that i sort of drawn to. only to find out some time later that we belong to the same college. in fact might have met 30+ yrs ago.

i had a chance to sit quietly near the statue of the founder for a while. again, it is only about 30 yrs later that i started to understand and appreciate his decision / work. his spirit has certainly been passed down, making all those who have ever connected brave, bright, conscious, kind hearted warriors, spreading the light in whatever role they might be.

may we all keep shining. and remember always that “we r the light of the world” .
