Christmas 2020

certainly a very special one to remember. when everyone has mask on + other restrictions.

yet we were so blessed with a warm, even hot sunny periods of a few days over the weekends. many took the last chance before it turns much cooler later this week to get outdoor for some sunlight and fresh air.

we did not really plan for any special activities yet turned out be very blessed with much amazing moments :

morning yoga by the sea

silent simple outdoor dinner on silent night

setting sun+ rising moon at quiet hilltop, busy park, small beaches…

quiet Christmas snack at outdoor theatre

short family gathering + video call from overseas

reconnecting with long term no talk friends

sharing our blessings by sending goodies to our helper and donate to the needy…

knowing everyone we know of is keeping very well despite all challenges…

we do not need to write / talk all the time. the best gift we can give another is to stay healthy, joyful, strong, faithful, pure and clean at all levels, then we shall radiate good vibes wherever we are, and be a walking blessings wherever we go / to all those we interact with.

may we all take good care ourselves, so that we can care for others who r in need.

may the spirit of Christmas stay with all of us everyday till next yr! hahahahaha hohohohohohoho

Blessings be to all

2020

certainly will be long remembered. a yr when the unimaginable happened

passenger carried by our flag carrier dropped almost 99%, once an int’l uk bank ‘turned red”, hk / govt. become so unrecognisable and unbelievable in only 1+ yr. , what we used to enjoy or even take for granted disappeared so fast that it seems we have jumped collectively to another parallel universe over night!

masks, measuring temp., social distancing… become the new norm, operating hours of shops and restaurants vary all the time, new rules implemented any time, mandatory screening, or be moved to quarantine centre.. all just by the decision of the very few at the top / “experts”

structure / prudent procedures / policies that were once followed dissolved. .. making everything so arbitrary / random / positively, fluid! hahhaha

we all learn to be very flexible. grateful, for what we still can enjoy each day, knowing things might change dramatically over night.

hopefully business owners/ mgrs / planners also learnt great lessons.

there is a 2-storey mall we have been visiting for 20+ yrs. i used to enjoy the natural sunlight from the big ceiling. it was then at quite a “remote location” with a department store and shops selling middle priced items.

over the yrs nearby areas a lot more developed. buses shipped customers from mainland. carpark always full esp. weekends.. traffic jam during sales…

then the property owner decided to shut it down for a few yrs to add 1 more floor, with a lot more retail space, yet most shops and the mall almost window less, low ceiling, no daylight, nor fresh air…

result : high concentration of people in big enclosed area thus very high health risks. already a few confirmed cases.

the shopping experience is totally different also. most customers do not enjoy stay long in pressured / “trapped” zone with no natural sunlight.

i hope mgt. have learnt that more retail space not necessarily mean more business, and a socially responsible enterprise should not set profit as the only target

another mall at prime tourists destination also closed down for big renovation for a few yrs. again, re open this yr, and replaced most middle ranged shops / restaurants with high end ones.

some already closed down probably due to high rent and insufficient customers. others replaced…

positively, this is a yr when the wheel of fortune finally turns. what once considered gold mine, thus so used to ripping off customers, hardest hit.

we no longer put so much attention to our appearance but health

people re connect with nature, spending more time outdoor instead of shopping

unnecessary gathering thus gossips cut down. the mass forced to spend more time with oneself / only a few stead of big group, hopefully better re connect with our inner self / true essence…

eating no longer a social event but a necessity. cutting down waste of foods

buffets, banquet… all banned or limited … mother earth probably very happy 🙂

chained cafe that once seldom cut price, now offer daily discount after 7 p.m. instead of throwing unsold items away…

a lot of good things r happening despite the “bad” on the surface.

we treasure what we used to enjoy a lot more when it is taken away.

it’s a great yr for deep reflection, higher consciousness, letting go of what do not serve us good anymore / bad habits, appreciating what we still have / can do, setting new goals, raising standards for the highest good of all…

may we all become wiser, stronger, more resilient, big hearted… shedding the old, to welcome the new earth.

what a friendly and welcoming species!

they grow long branches with flowers at the end, reaching out to all directions, extending over walls, yet dropping so low that could be touched, or at least be very close to all those who walked by.

so heart warming to see people still have the consciousness and mood to stop by and take photos. appreciating this simple yet profound beauty many others simply ignore / take for granted.

when they blossom, the whole tree is full of flowers. even after the flowers dropped, they paved the road so generously with their bright colorful petals.

bees and butterflies like to be around..

like many other life forms, they might be short lived, yet their beauty, fragrance, hospitality, richness,… shine through and radiate for a short period, to resonate with those who r open and grateful for their existence.

in a way their r very similar to butterflies. a few bodies i saw lately on the ground. it was getting cold. and even after the wonderful being ascended, its body still lie so beautifully on the ground. sometimes with wings up.

i wish more of us can come to realise the impermanence of all forms, including that of human. a “pop” by universe standard like many spiritual teachers have mentioned.

it’s certainly not worthwhile to waste precious life time competing, worrying, destroying, controlling, getting angry, miserable…

simply be our true selves, and the world shall be rich and complete

cows and egrets

temp. dropped almost 10 degrees today. i decided to go further to a more “remote” beach to air surf.

it was very windy so the normally crowded place now very quiet.

for the 1st time, i saw a group of 7 cows eating grass on a small slope above sea, + 2 egrets joining them, sometimes stand on the cows!

such a sweet surprise and big reward for coming out despite the coolness

above the small slope is an open car park. with village houses. those cows probably very familiar with the place and residents here that they grazed and stayed on the carpark leisurely, gave me a look before continuing their lunch 🙂

such a rare picture now given more and more land here have been rezoned for property development and many trees pulled down.

may we all have more respect for all life forms. realising that they play their parts silently to make this world a better place. there r a lot to be learnt from these big creatures. so calm, gentle, yet strong and powerful.

may we all co exist in harmony, appreciating each other’s existence. then the world shall be full of grace, beauty, love, joy, abundance….

Blessings be to all
