animal friends

since i took my stretching / yoga routine outdoor a few months ago, i have been welcomed / trusted / visited by many animal friends

egrets, previously rarely seen at the small beach, now become a common sight. recently there r 4 /5 vs. only 1 previously. they also tend to be a lot more trusting and at ease staying rather close in front of me instead of far away at the sides.

butterflies, also a common visitor lately. very beautiful yellow ones.

big fat, long tailed blue magpie, that normally stay very far away from human, and very talkative white birds / gu gus also walked around me looking foods sometimes.

it was particularly impressive when a red “big crab” showed up very close to my mat once. looking to me eye to eye. he/she must be the veteran of that group of very small crabs that build amazing “sand dunes” and run very fast into the sand tunnels when people r nearby. to see the 2 tiny tiny black dot eye balls protruding from the head so close is such a wonder. one can’t help to appreciate nature/ life with awe

yet a few days ago, i met a very unfriendly / rather fearful black dog early morning. there were people who woke up from tent and early beach strollers, and sun already quite high in sky, yet this stray dog, probably spend every night on the beach and considered himself / his pack owner of the beach, came close to bark and growl at me. the situation was rather horrible as it looks totally black like a wolf and seems very hostile. i was about to give way and leave when he got one of my shoes. not knowing what to do and with an empty mind, i continued my practice.

surprisingly he took it not too far then sit down. kind of enjoying eating/ playing with the trophy. then after a while, when some other dogs showed up, he went back into the bush, leaving my shoe behind.

i took it back. clean thoroughly. thanking all beings who have helped.

about 45 mins later, when i was about to leave, it appeared again. this time, much more gentle. walk around me, no sound, then left. kind of like greeting the pack leader.

i can’t help remembering Eckhart’s teaching : no resistance / reaction, esp. in face of big egos. and certainly unconscious beings.

i was quite terrified actually when such an aggressive animals was so close, ready to attack any time. yet something / someone might have helped me to stay so calm. present. and i even did not prevent / scold him from taking away my shoe, even though no idea how i might be able to get home with only 1. ..

and he probably back off seeing this is not an enemy / failed to provoke a fight

could this be the best way to handle unconscious humans as well?

certainly not to say we let them do whatever they want. but when enough have been done and still not effective or even back fire, silence might be the best solution. at the right time, the wheel shall turn.

locally and globally, we watch craziness continued to build up seemingly so helpless. yet our true strength might lie in our resilience, ability to rise above tribulations, and faith that justice will be done.

may we all always have that inner strength to carry on . gratefully, joyfully, faithfully. regardless . ..

to co create a new earth we so long desired and deserve
