Dr. Dog

A calm friendly dog is surely therapeutic. While there are many dogs in our neighborhood, they all seem to be a bit hyper active!

that’s why to be greeted with much openness/ trust / friendliness .. at the first encounter by a big black and white 4-year-old by a lotus pond is something very honorable.

no wonder they are human’s best friends. no words, simply shown their love with body language, the way they smell / look at you, allowing u to pat…

thank you for your existence, dear friend, to stay with us despite some human might still treat u not so well unconsciously.

best wishes to us all

Amazing Water

Water is really a very special substance. Not only has it been scientifically proven that it can “see”, it also produces different sounds according to volume, speed, height… from the gentle soothing dripping sound of a water jet into a pond, to a more vibrant running river, water fall, big waves of the sea…

Recently i had luxury to be all alone in the green house of Hong Kong Park. it was only then that i become very aware of not only all the beautiful plants, but the wonderful sound made of water throughout the area, without which the whole experience will certainly be very different.

Great appreciation to all those who have paid so much attentions to details to create such a wonderful place.

water is everywhere around and within us : in the sea, air, plants, soil, our bodies…

having greater awareness and gratitude towards this precious and often overlooked element certainly help build a better Earth.

Limitation of money

we all know money is essential for survival. yet in this material age, its significance seems over emphasized.

i have read : money can buy u a house, but not a home;

a good doctor, but not good health;

a “wife” , but not love…

yet there are people with no kids thought they can “buy a daughter”! save 20 years’ hard work and simply pay to get the fully grown kid off the shelf?! truly ridiculous!

even those moms who complained about their children not visiting often / good enough, ask yourself what have u done? do u really have your children’s best interest in heart? or are they kind of your personal belongings for showing off? how much quality time did u spend together, not talking about homework, gossips… comparing them to other kids?

the universe is fair. we all reap what we sow. there is no easy way out but to invest your time / heart / life!

money might buy a little time, but trust / deep bond / true love…all takes a long time to build.

stop working only for money before too late.

“water fountain”

when i was small, my grandma often tied my hair on top of my head so that it looked like a “water fountain” . today, it remains my favorite hair style and many chinese parents are still doing the same to their toddlers, as they all know this will make their children most comfortable.

i believe that is some kind of ancient wisdom to that esp. after i visited a place in Hangzhou recently with about 3000 – 5000 years of history. the people then, esp. those in power, had feathers on their heads.

The costume of Chinese operas also featured the same, with something like antennas on top.

“water fountain” is not only easy to maintain, very comfortable and natural as it leaves the forehead free from being covered, but might also enhance receptivity / facilitate awakening.

look at the birds, those with spiky feathers on top / big crowns appear particularly cool! haahahah

it probably takes a long time before this hair style can be socially acceptable for adults but at least we can all exercise greater consciousness in deciding our own, instead of just conforming to the norm.

When i am Still

i like the saying ” i am never more of myself than when i am still”.

for almost 10 years, i had the privilege to join a healing circle, almost weekly for a few years, then less frequently.

it was free and open to the public. everyone can come.

the wonderful host, Victor, normally kick start the session by quieting down all participants, before a “free talk” time during which any one can talk about anything.

then comes the main part of it , during about 45 mins. each participant can have a chance to lay down on a mat and be “healed” by others.

nothing was taught. no “how”. each of us can use whatever way / technique we know to “send love” to the person.

It is amazing to see how people have changed simply after such a short period of time, even though it seems as if nothing has been done.

as there was guidelines, i applied / modified all those i have learnt over the years every time i attend the session, only to know the most effective method might simply be “do nothing”!

as we become still and connect to our deep true essence, we become the vibration which facilitate others to do the same.

this is why we tend to forge a stronger bond with those whom we can share silence with. for only when we are still is all form identity stripped off, and we were back to our true nature.

i am forever grateful for such wonderful experience. thank you so much for allowing me to be more of myself and a “channel of divine” for helping others.

Best wishes to you all.

may we all just reserve a little time each day for ourselves, so that we can always remember who we are at core apart from the role we play.

Zen Eating

the first time i was introduced the concept was about 10 years ago when i “accidentally” connect with a place that offers kind of a healing course.

happened that there was a weekly activity where a free veggie meal was offered to the public. it was prepared by volunteers using very fresh ingredients. a max. of 60 people were allowed. first come first served.

the host would first guide the group quiet down, enter into kind of meditative state, before receiving this lovely blessing in gratitude.

i had the honour to help out serve the meal for a period of time. it was amazing to see how such a big group can eat so quietly, gratefully, totally … in quite a small space. people were normally quite uplifted afterwards and expressed much thankfulness to all involved.

it is certainly much more than a meal, which is just “an excuse” to get people out of the usual busy life / mind but turn attention inwards toward themselves.

Many of us are still used to talk over the dining table, esp. chinese who have a share-food culture.

Over the years, i enjoy eating alone so much that it becomes so uneasy for me now to eat with someone except those who can share silence.

to receive wonderful blessings from mother earth in a natural setting with the presence of plants, animals, sky, cloud, wind, sea… is one of my favorite activity.

it is not only good for health, (as we tend to over eat and chew less when we do not ingest food consciously), but facilitate a deeper connection with ourselves and mother earth which in turn generate greater gratitude for all foods that we receive.

it might be a good business idea to have “quiet zone” in restaurants / cafes esp. veggie ones.. the ripple effect of this seemingly small move might be phenomenal.

in the driver’s seat

Driving is an excellent training. one needs to learn not only to be focused, patient, courageous, exercise good judgement, observant… but to fully surrender.

u cannot ask the car behind u not to get too close, nor the one next to u to go faster / slower. one can only control one’s car!

is it not the same for life? we often hope to influence / change people / circumstances to the way we want. there are of course times we need to stand up and fight for what we considered “right”. yet over the years, it seems it might be more effective to lay down the sword, esp. in view of big egos.

as Sadhguru said, we might not be able to control the external, at least we manage our own thoughts and emotions.

this is the way to freedom. be master of our own destiny

the Lightness of Life

i seldom watch movies in languages that i don’t understand. recently, somehow, managed to watch “Cold War” with my daughter.

we were both super impressed not only by the story, music, how everything is arranged.. .but the lightness about how this rather painful experience of the director’s parents is presented.

there were no bloody scene, dramatic emotional display, .. .but full surrender, constant adaptation, immense power within the 2 seemingly helpless individuals.

again, after all the dramas, only love remains to be remembered / cherished.

to the director : heart felt appreciation for sharing the story . congratulations to your wonderful work

to your parents : Namaskar. may you rest in peace. The wisdom, love and power u both demonstrated will always be remembered.

hahahaahahhah

my daughter is a great fan of super hero movies. over the years i have been also been “educated”!

only very recently however, did she show me a very interesting personal gesture of the actor who played Captain America : he very often lol !

turned out this special “icon” is quite infectious. now it has become a great reminder and response for us esp. when we come across rather challenging people / unconscious behavior.

salute to you, Cap!

thanks a lot for helping us to lighten up, shake it off, and always maintain a sense of humor, which is absolutely essential for a joyful, healthy, balanced life.

The Ultimate Lesson

If Earth is a school, what are we here to learn?

skills, knowledge? how to get rich, famous, be liked by many?

If there is purpose of life, what is it?

To me, life seems to be a journey of self discovery. through various challenges / sufferings we discover aspects of ourselves which otherwise will be overlooked / dormant : inner strength, perseverance, faith, hope, compassion, …

Realizing who we are at the core enables us to function with much greater ease despite external challenges / circumstances. We also naturally become the vibration to balance / uplift the world knowingly / unknowingly.

May more of us turn our attention / awareness inward and be more often connected with the Source / the One / All-that-is / the unmanifested / timeless, spaceless formless pure consciousness. …

then this world will certainly become a much joyful and peaceful place
