animal healers

there is something truly special about animals, be it cat, dog, horse, duck, rabbit, bird, fish… or wilder ones like tiger / lions / penguins…

we can only communicate with them via our hearts, yet the bond can be very strong.

it is certainly healing and heart warming to see not only human can bond with so many different species, but how various animals can become great friends despite their very different in size / nature : dogs and cats, dogs and duck, cat and horse…

thanks to all pet owners, the stories they shared online are big “medicine” for me esp. during very challenging times.

they remind me the brighter side of humanity/ animal kingdom, to show that love and compassion is possible across species as long as we give our hearts.

loving kindness is our true nature. only too many of us have been conditioned to form a big ego, that always separates, wants to be superior, “better”, ….

the world will certainly become a better place when more of us connect with our true nature more often. animals are here to help. be kind to them, and we shall all reap a more harmonious world.

Blessings be to All

Help all caged animals Pls!

every time my daughter and i saw animals being kept in cages our hearts hurt a lot.

they either look very hopeless / deadened; or still try hard to escape.

the worst being these animals are kept in very small cages and are visited by very few people, making their sacrifice of freedom even less worthwhile.

the look of that hornbill stayed with me for a long time. it turned its head parallel to the floor to look up directly at the sky / sun, unmoved, seemingly a silent protest against lost of freedom / a desperate call for being freed… its colour fades, its partner hiding in shades, did not even want to come out..

even if there is a need to keep animals in captivity, at least we should provide them with better environments.

walk in aviary might be a better choice . at least various types of birds can co-exist in a much bigger space with greater and closer human contacts.

to single out one / a few species and keep them in a small cage is almost criminal. animals have their basic right to be free, too. they certainly deserve much better treatment while “imprisoned” .

may all be freed, may humans have greater consciousness and respect for all other creatures, so that we can co-exist joyfully, peacefully…

Blessings be to all!

Holy Cows

Oh dear lovely cows near Po Lin Monastery, how amazing creatures u are!

u live your own leisure pace despite the world is spinning fast;

u keep eating grass undisturbed despite people around u keep yelling, posting, taking photos, looking, touching…

u gather in big group lying / sunbathing / resting in peace near busy bus stops..

i admire your existence. thank you for teaching us

non-reaction;

that we can be at ease under challenging circumstances;

that we can co-exist with another very different species;

that we can honor our own nature and be ourselves despite the rest of the world is very different…

may more of us see the holiness in u so we will stop doing harm to your fellow comrades who are not as lucky as you are.

May u all live long, have fun, enjoy the wonderful mountain, excellent air quality… and be our forever inspiring dear friends.

Sparrows

these little creatures are truing amazing. so small, yet so clever, brave, agile, .. and managed to connect with human so well.

me and my daughter always enjoy feeding them when they come close for foods. sometimes they sing from a distance before coming closer on the floor to look at you! hahaahah. a very innocent childlike gaze that one cannot resist!

after a while when their trust increased with an human, the little birds are willing to come even closer. to look into the their little eyes up close is such an incredible rewarding experience.

they certainly have very high intelligence as well. i have seen birds previous trapped in a cafe learnt to find ways in and out over time.

It always gives me great pleasure to interact with/ simply look at these wonderful beings, one of the gentle wild species that managed to co-exist so well with human in cities.

Thank you so much for your existence, and all the joy / liveliness / sanity… u bring. u always remind me of abundance, that we don’t need much to survive, there is enough for all, the Universe will care for all creations…. we can all put down our armors and relax a bit.

Dr. Dog

A calm friendly dog is surely therapeutic. While there are many dogs in our neighborhood, they all seem to be a bit hyper active!

that’s why to be greeted with much openness/ trust / friendliness .. at the first encounter by a big black and white 4-year-old by a lotus pond is something very honorable.

no wonder they are human’s best friends. no words, simply shown their love with body language, the way they smell / look at you, allowing u to pat…

thank you for your existence, dear friend, to stay with us despite some human might still treat u not so well unconsciously.

best wishes to us all

Oh Dear Feathery Friends!

i bow to you for your forgiveness, resilience, bravery, trust, curiosity, love… towards a not very conscious species called “human”

you have demonstrated how it is possible to live with dignity, ease, even joy / pride in a not very ideal setting.

may you all be freed, one way or another, very soon, for all the wonderful work you have done here this life.

It’s ok be Slow

In this internet age where increasing speed seems to be one of our very important goal, isn’t it amazing to note that many other live forms with a much slower pace still exist?

i am often inspired when seeing those grey pigeons (which often give a “gu gu” sound) live alongside with the very agile sparrows. Those gu gus have wings but seldom fly. They walk most the time. Yet have no problem at all surviving at the same place with sparrows, which are more capable in getting foods.

Only recently do my daughter and i also noticed how they defend their territory : by standing boldly , calmly, undeterred, look us in the eyes, then add some sound! hahahaha

Anyone who has seen how an egret fish will also know that these super calm and still creatures can stand / remain in a certain posture for a long time before a sudden strike, that normally is successful.

While not hungry, egrets spend most time seemingly enjoy looking at the sea, fulfilled and peaceful.

Tortoise, spend much time being still, enjoy sunbathing…

Many other creatures do not move fast : pandas, sloth, elephants…

Maybe this is why we can be so mesmerized by simply looking at these wonderful beings, as they remind us of our essence that is so often overlooked / covered up : stillness, awareness, consciousness…

May we all learn to slow down a little, have more gaps in the midst of all hustle bustle, connect with our true essence more often…. Then this world will certainly become a more loving place.

Birds in Sanctuary

My daughter and i are so fascinated every time we visit the walk in sanctuary in Hong Kong Park where many species of birds are kept. Some of them are super human friendly that they will come very close to us. One can almost hug/ kiss them!

i have deep respect for these super brave, trusting and loving beings, who sacrificed their freedom to provide us with such amazing experience. Despite being shot by many cameras / phones and disturbed by not very friendly gestures of visitors esp. very excited kids, these wonderful creatures remain calm, resilient, even appear to be rather interested in humans!

May we all remember that we are the one who took away their freedom in the first place. While appreciating their beauty, have gratitude towards these amazing live forms, who managed not only to surrender totally to a new captive environment but becoming so human friendly.
