mid autumn festival

lunar calendar 8/15, my favourite chinese festival. normally represents something like this :

on a cool cloudless night, family get together for dinner before having a good stroll. children will bring their lanterns / play with candles… some may bring mooncake, have picnic in a park / open space, appreciating the bright round moon, have fun till at least mid night.

with such a special 2020, this yr’s festival is bound to be very unusal.

today, lunar 8/14, the eve of 8/15, which also coincide with the national day of prc, feel more like the day before some big changes.

i was lucky enough to have very hot sunny period at noon so as to move a while at beach. even some quiet time at the podium around 2 p.m. to have a sip of tea and bread before coming home.

then later p.m, managed to re connnect with some long time no talk friends and relatives.

before evening meditation / chanting, i watched rain coming from afar, getting heavier and heavier as night falls.

at times so big that visibility is almost zero. all blank white.

in just a few hours, yellow rainstorm warning was issued, followed by red, then black. . lightning and thunder almost non stop

certainly the most rainy 8/14 as far as i remember

at this time of writing, the sky is still blinking and roaring though rain eased a bit

may we all fasten our seat belts. be ready for what might come along. and handle with extra calmness, tact, strength, wisdom…

we shall sail through the eye the needle to a more promising new earth

blessings be to all
