power of silence

some kids talk a lot / loud to get parents attention.

this might continue to adulthood so that people r seen very talkative / speak loudly at public places.

not many r able to remain / enjoy silence. those who do, normally prefer to be alone. they enjoy so much connecting with themselves/ nature yet often misinterpreted as being sad/ lonely having no company

in the rare case when one of these “loner” / calm silent people meet each other, there will be instant recognition / appreciation, and a sharing of each other’s joy, ease, peace, lightness…

recently i have the chance to witness quite a striking moment when, through a group of yelling kids, an elderly lady jogged silently (probably happily also) at ease accompanied by likely her helper.

many heads turned.

may we all be freed from the need for attention, knowing that the greatest joy comes from within, everything external is secondary and ultimately will not last / make us happy …

then this world will not only become a much serene place, but a more joyful and peaceful one.

Blessings be to all

a fairer world

with most human staying at home, all kinds of animals finally enjoy more space and greater freedom.

sea turtles returned, deers played happily at beach, sea lions get to the ground, peacocks, elephants, goat, and other kinds of rarely seen wild lives strolled on streets, bears fighting on roads, geese wandering at airport….

even penguins / ducks kept in aquariums can enjoy a walk outside their normal home to meet other animals under the same roof.

with much less business activities, waters at Venice much clearer, pollution down at many cities, the Himalayas can been seen 200km away… mother earth has finally regained some balance and happy at least for a while…

even among human, there seem to be a greater sense of fairness / equality.

regardless of rich / poor, education, social status, … everyone is subject to the risks of infected by virus. and with limited supply of some grocery items e.g. tissue paper / masks.. each person can only buy the same no. ..

may this challenge teach us all to be more humble, loving, caring so that we co-exist in harmony with fellow human, other live forms and nature and to always remember that we r only 1 of the many many species on mother earth.

the word will certainly be a much better place when more of us drop our big egos.

good vs. bad

many might have similar experiences. yet personally the last few yrs saw the message loud and clear with frequent and intense occurrences

major instances like daughter not able to stay NY after she graduated last year due to visa issue, not taking an offered job on cruise due to various reasons.. turned out to be a great blessing in disguise (as those r hardest hit places of the coronavirus)

very sudden death of my dad in 2017, again, perfect timing .could not have imagined how everything can be handled under current circumstances.

sale of our flat at a not very ideal price. now we see renovation work of external wall ongoing but halted and not have a target finishing date again due to the virus. much better be out of it early

sudden work deployment of my husband to a mainland city we have not even been to. an ordeal at the beginning turned out to be quite a pleasant experience in about 3 yrs

people who walked away from me / activities that used to be so important / places that i always visited, turned out not that indispensable. in fact feel much lighter and free when i detach from them.

people who r rude to us / hit us hard, often lead to our greater consciousness / teach us valuable lessons….

on the contrary, when we do get what we want, things might not be as good as we expected.

a flat we desired, we moved out after 1 yr due to water leakage

another big flat we desired, turned out to be surrounded by very inconsiderate neighbours who make loud noise almost daily till 3 -4 a.m.

even as simple as a dish of delicious / good looking foods, might cause sickness to our physical body after ingestion

…..

so that probably is a very important lesson we all need to learn in a life time :

let go / be aware of / lessen the judgement of good / bad for everything.

for, as a very wise ancient chinese saying goes, “good” and “bad” paves the way for each other

so, don’t be overjoyed when we get what we want , and do not be despair when our desire not fulfilled/ things do not turn out as we preferred / expected. for it is very often after some time, even yrs , that we realised the blessings in disguise and be really grateful for what happened.

certainly not easy when we r in the process, such as now, when fear and anxiety filled most part of the world and many r locked down. looking back later, we may all agree that it is kind of necessary evil for a big transformation.

in this Easter 2020, (as far as i remember, the first and hopefully the last yr where malls have no easter bunnys displayed), may we all learnt valuable lessons and rise from ash, for “it is in dying and that we r born to eternal life”

thriving

2 days into the aquarius age and after days of rain, finally some sunny periods.

another blessed visit to my beloved campus. this time, a great return of all life forms :birds, fishes, flowers, leaves, and, human! hahaaha

very glad to see much restoration work finished, and more people have returned : students, families, ..

new leaves and blossoming flowers seen again on tree branches that were bare last time; hungry sparrows came fast and close to ask for foods; more fishes in ponds, many bright colors…

i shared bread sticks with a little girl who were watching fishes with her mom when i arrived. and enjoyed feeding fishes together 🙂

uphill, families with small kids running around, blowing soap bubbles, some with grand parents as well, others practise skateboarding / squash…

a feeling that things have finally started to flourish though it seems we still have no idea when the virus might fade.

i had another chance to revisit a book on tao that i bought 7 yrs ago. still very relevant.

it is particularly important to “watch our hearts” esp. during turbulent and challenging times.

may we all have the ability to stay at the centre of the storm amid a swirling world. with much calm and presence / consciousness, we can all handle the challenge with grace and emerge stronger, wiser.

blessings be to all

fear

when fear override sanity, nasty things can happen

locking down the whole city, restricting movement to people totally across the globe

putting those infected under horrible conditions, evening killing them

trapping people at home, restrict movement, mandatory wearing of masks…

not to say these measures r not effective nor necessary, but the extent / degree to which they apply worth lots of re consideration.

a big correction is bound to happen when, only 2 months ago, we live in a world where

material possession is highly valued to many, even the only life goal / identification;

appearance is much more valued than well being : all levels, physical, mental , emotional…

going shopping malls a much more popular activities than exercising / going outdoor / spend time in nature.

most people spend much time of their lives “socializing” / gossiping., judging, complaining others instead of turning inward towards themselves…

it is a time for BIG SHIFT.

where people should start to take responsibility about the well being of themselves instead of outsourcing it to medical doctors.

virus do mutate. even if there is vaccine , no guarantee it will work forever, not to mention unknown side effects.

putting on masks, might do more harm than good, and certainly diminish the feel good factor which in turn greatly lower our immune system, not to mention it will trap bacteria if not use properly, and increase frequency of our hands touch the face / not effective at all if not wearing a right mask / wearing it properly

body temp. : certainly not a very reliable indicator of whether the person carries virus. the side effects of excessive measuring, thus injecting infra red to the body yet to be revealed.

yet with nothing else to rely on, govt push all these to extreme

creating unnecessary suffering to all people

shutting down outdoor space particularly stupid.

it is exactly the time when fresh air, sunlight, space,… nature… , the best natural cure, is much needed,

fear breeds isolation. mistrust amongst people

more chaos has been created by fear than the virus alone

countries who have already respected personal space / where people remain generally sane, calm, .. r handling the challenge well.

again, this is a much needed purification / opportunity for awakening.

those who r willing to upgrade themselves will certainly stay, while others, purged.

we look forward to a much advanced new world where everyone is loving, wise, responsible, considerate, calm, and most of all, sane

Blessings be to all

collapsing of the old

existing structures seem falling apart fast

political :

leaders / important member of major countries confirmed positive for the virus;

US strengthen ties with taiwan, while restricting business with prc and show off its military muscle at china’s border

a new order emerging fast

a new type of leader may take over

financial :

roller coaster ride of stock market. largest single day surge since 1933 after big dips, just to be followed by another major correction

getting more and more risky to “invest”

might be a good way to cut down people’s greed / over reliance on financial market for monetary income.

property : sure going downward as more non residents leave the place, and more business closure expected

again, correcting generations’ belief that buying property is a life time goal, the more the better, and it’s a great way to earn income ….

already many cases of selling property at a loss, even after holding it for a few years… finally a chance to ease the sky high property price that is beyond reach for most local residents

education :

schools in hk have been suspended almost for the whole year. social movement since June, then due to the virus…

great time to reflect whether formal schooling is really necessary / worth all the costs and efforts…

social gathering / personal distance

finally some legal requirements regarding space between table at restaurants, limiting no. of people per table, and capacity to 50%;

good time to reflect when so called social / family gathering is really necessary / do more harm than good.

hopefully with less chance of gossip / complain more people are forced inwards, connecting and relying more on their own intelligence rather than seeking everything from external

all in all.. a higher divine purpose behind everything that seems chaotic

it’s a time to fully accept what is, keeping full faith that this big transformation will work out well at the end. we just need some more patience, adaptability, a little dose of humor if possible, and remain the eternal grounded observer to witness unfolding of the divine plan.

a new order

rapidly properly, the old seem collapsing fast while the new sets in just about 2 months!

something almost unprecedented now becomes reality :

international exam. cancelled / postponed

olympic game boycotted

work from home

curfew

mandatory physical distance

limit no. of gathering to 2!

countries closing borders

….

what we considered so important before : good academic results, winning competitive games, need to socialize / hugging / kissing / travelling…now takes a much lower priority.

hopefully with more time alone and at home, more people will turn inward / at least reflect on what is really important in our lives.

material possession, fame, social status, physical appearance.. not as valuable as before. strong physical, mental and emotional system, peace of mind… much more important.

as in any crisis, both our brightest and darkest side might be brought to surface.

there r companies / people who reach out to help, keep sending love and light, while others, still having big egos / live in fear, anxiety..

may we all become more awakened in this big challenge.

a new world incubating fast 🙂

Blessings be to all

right the wrong

almost 2 months since the “wuhan virus” came to public attention, some very interesting phenomenon already occurred. something beyond imagination just a few weeks ago.

the speed and intensity which the conronavirus hit the world has caused a “flip”, which, though on the surface seem undesirable, might actually be good for the long run.

the most obvious is increase in personal space / maintaining social distance, though it will be better if that is due to increased awareness instead of fear.

some stores have marks on floor to prevent people lining up for payment to get too close; exam. centre increase space between each candidate; gov’t considering to limit pax on bus so that it will not be too full / crowded..

the hardest hit countries r those most famous for luxurious brands / plastic surgeries. now lvmh is producing hand sanitizer and sourcing mask. ..

sudden and drastic detachment from strong form identity / emphasis on appearance.

pubs, night clubs, restaurants .. closed. – less time for unhealthy drinking , gossiping,,, instead, more quiet alone time at home for reflection, spiritual awakening…

what previously considered a pride / honor now becomes a big source of trouble: air travel, cruise trip, studying / working/ living overseas…

like Eckhart said, this certainly is a great opportunity for massive awakening when each of us is forced out of our comfort zone and realised what is really important

may we all awake rapid properly

together we create a new world of joy, love and harmony so all live forms can co-exist happily

birthday

when we were small, we tend to look forward to our birthdays. the cake, gifts..

as we get older, it seems “just another birthday” esp. as we realised we r getting 1 yr older! haahahah

this yr, due to coronavirus, the planned visit to my husband on my birthday is cancelled. instead, i got a bouquet of flowers direct from prc! arriving at the perfect timing. orange and bright yellow tulips that lasted for over 10 days!

while fully aware that happiness is mostly an internal state rather than externally driven, it is still sweet to receive some goodies, esp. when one already survived for over half a century and it is from your 3-decade companion! haahhaah truly blessed.

i suddenly seem to realised why some people, even very old, still look very much forward to their own birthdays. to be the centre of attention, receiving goodies from everyone.

yet this is certainly a big trap. like Eckhart said, we spend most of our lives in the waiting room, waiting for that BIG day / those BIG moments.

i am reminded again that happiness is not only a choice but an ability.

an ability to observe, notice and be grateful for all we have / enjoying daily, and celebrate each day as if it is our birthday.

so from now on, i shall make each day my birthday. totally self reliant , self loving. keeping that festive mood high…regardless of circumstances.

this is a training for us all.

may we all be more aware of happy moments each day and fill our hearts with wonderful feelings.

this world will certainly be a much more lovely place!

silent mode

thanks to a recent online tarot reading, i finally understand quiet alone time for some people is not only a preference / luxury, but a basic need for the soul just like water/ food to the physical body.

over the years, i do realized being alone quietly, preferably outdoor with nature, is vital for maintaining a healthy system.

yet for most people, the reverse is true. and it seems noise making is on the rise. when walkman / portable music player was first produced, everyone cycle / jog with headphones on. now more people turn on speakers loud.

everywhere people talk loudly, even in nunnery /outdoor places that r suppose to facilitate us connect to nature/ our essence / the one consciousness

while there r times that communication is really needed to get messages across, i would say at least half of most conversations is not necessary, even create too much sufferings for oneself and others :

complaining about what others did / did not say or do;

judging others wrong;

to show that one is superior;

getting support / agreement from others;

imposing ideas / beliefs / concepts on others; ….

or simply want some attention like babies

how much i wish that quiet zone can be implemented in restaurants / cafes asap so that customer’s right to enjoy zen eating can be respected.

of course a more fundamental way would be for the mass to turn on their silent mode more often.

it takes much consciousness to observe our thoughts, therefore words. and certainly takes time for one to turn inward and connect more often with our true essence / high soul / the source instead of focusing on externals.

it is an ability to enjoy being alone. cutting down talking can be the first step.

may we all turn on our silent mode more often and use our hearts to see, feel, connect with all..

this world will certainly become a more adorable place
