in the driver’s seat

Driving is an excellent training. one needs to learn not only to be focused, patient, courageous, exercise good judgement, observant… but to fully surrender.

u cannot ask the car behind u not to get too close, nor the one next to u to go faster / slower. one can only control one’s car!

is it not the same for life? we often hope to influence / change people / circumstances to the way we want. there are of course times we need to stand up and fight for what we considered “right”. yet over the years, it seems it might be more effective to lay down the sword, esp. in view of big egos.

as Sadhguru said, we might not be able to control the external, at least we manage our own thoughts and emotions.

this is the way to freedom. be master of our own destiny

Birds in Sanctuary

My daughter and i are so fascinated every time we visit the walk in sanctuary in Hong Kong Park where many species of birds are kept. Some of them are super human friendly that they will come very close to us. One can almost hug/ kiss them!

i have deep respect for these super brave, trusting and loving beings, who sacrificed their freedom to provide us with such amazing experience. Despite being shot by many cameras / phones and disturbed by not very friendly gestures of visitors esp. very excited kids, these wonderful creatures remain calm, resilient, even appear to be rather interested in humans!

May we all remember that we are the one who took away their freedom in the first place. While appreciating their beauty, have gratitude towards these amazing live forms, who managed not only to surrender totally to a new captive environment but becoming so human friendly.
